DIY: Little Pots of Moss from Project Wedding

Here is a super cute DIY project from Project Wedding that will cost you under $2 each to make. These little pots filled with moss are beautiful and elegant. I also really love the thank you for coming flags that are placed in the pots.  You can download the flag template from the site as well. However, I think my favorite idea is to use these for escort cards and then let the guests take them home for favors as well. To get the full DIY project simply click here. Enjoy!

Wedding Cake Alternatives

Cake has dominated the wedding industry for years. However, right now there is a trend to skip the cake all together or have your cake and other desserts too. Maybe cake is not your thing. For many people cake is okay, but they have a dessert that they simply swoon over. (Mine would be cheesecake by the way.) So, why not have that dessert at your wedding? You defiantly should, whether it is only that dessert or a combination of cake and your dream dessert. Below I have listed some fun alternatives or additions to cake. I doubt that cake will loose it’s premier spot, but maybe it will get a run for it’s money!

Yum….pie! Almost everyone has a favorite pie. I am guilty of indulging in the occasional lemon meringue pie. Casual style weddings are perfect for a dessert bar filled with variety of pies. Choose your favorites and display them on beautiful cake stands for a stunning statement.

Here is a super fun option for your wedding that will bring out the kid in everyone. You can set up an old-fashioned ice cream bar complete with soda pop and assorted toppings.  Your guests can make their own floats and sundaes. If you are having an outdoor summer wedding, I think your guests would love this refreshing treat! Plus, if you want to go all out, you could have a waiter there making custom milkshakes and malts. Yummy!

Here is a treat that brings back fond childhood memories from many campers. S’mores are a beloved treat for many and how fun to set up your own s’mores station at your wedding? Your guests will have a ton of fun toasting the night away.

Okay, I am not sure that I know anyone who doesn’t like  some sort of carnival food! I am pretty sure that the majority of people I know would simply drool at the mention of funnel cakes! This carnival inspired dessert bar is a great way to take people back to the fun times at the state fair and other found memories. Plus, the food is good and fun! Showcase snow-cones, funnel cakes, soft pretzels, caramel apples, and other carnival favorites. This dessert bar is sure to be a big hit and leave a lasting memory with guests!

Some More S’mores!

I am personally not a big fan of s’mores. I know some of you are gasping in disbelief! But it has been a treat that is not my favorite. I eat like one a year just because they remind me of summer. My daughter and mother on the other hand love them. I think they could eat a ton of them in one sitting! There are many people that just adore them. That is why I think this favor idea is so great. This is a unique idea that would not coast a lot to make. Plus, it would be perfect for a summer wedding or for a couple that loves s’mores.

Baseball Themed Wedding

After a 4th of July weekend, I thought this piece would be very fitting. A baseball themed wedding is a great take on a wonderful American tradition. This inspiration board almost takes a vintage feel with the bride’s dress and the lovely style of the flower girls. Are they not the cutest? The Peanuts and Cracker Jacks carry out the theme and are packaged with a quotation to the song Take Me Out to the Ballgame. I also love the idea of a waiter going round and passing out these cute little baseball candies and cookies. It reminds you of someone going down the isles at the game selling sweets. Then if you want to add a little whimsy you could wear baseball cleats as your shoes and get married on home plate. Too Cute!

Simple Summer Hair

My favorite hairstyles for summer weddings are ones that are simple and elegant. I love a style that just lets the beauty of the bride show through. Plus, in the summer I love to see flowing styles. I am also a sucker for ponytails (as you can tell from the pictures below!). When a ponytail is done right, it is my favorite hairstyle out there!!

Flowers from Bloomtastic

bloomtastic

If you are looking for a wonderful florist, I have to say that  Bloomtastic is the best! I may be a bit partial since they did my wedding, but I think they are great. They entire staff is very knowledgeable and are willing to give you great ideas that fits with your theme and budget. Here are some pictures from a recent wedding from Bloomtastic. The bride’s bouquet was designed of roses, carnations and cymbidium orchids. Bridesmaid’s bouquets were designed of dahlias, roses and cataylea orchids. The centerpiece was hydrangeas and oriental lilies. Breathtaking!
