I am always looking for new and creative ways to package favors. We have all seen the traditional organza bags. While they are pretty and a classic choice, I like to see something that makes your wedding stand out. That is why I LOVE these paper cones from Martha Stewart.com. The cones are a unique take on the traditional favors, which really makes a statement. This is a favor idea that will leave people talking after your wedding. For more information click here!

Orchid Centerpiece

orcid

I’ll admit, orchids can be a bit pricey. However, if you are looking for a one of a kind look then this flower may be worth stretching your budget a bit. Orchids have a beautiful look that is unprecedented. This centerpiece option is a perfect example. This simple look is made by arranging one large vase filled with orchids in the middle of three smaller vases. The smaller vases contain orchids in the bottom and are filled with water and a floating candle to create a magnificent glow. This is such a simple look that really lets the beauty of the flower shine through! Pic

Simple Elegance Centerpiece

simple centerpiece

Cut the stem off of a beautiful bloom and add it to a shallow square dish for a centerpiece that is simply breathtaking. This is a fresh take on simple elegance especially when the bloom is surrounded by votive candles. This is also a great way to save money on centerpieces and still keep things beautiful. This type of centerpiece will also promote conversation since your guests won’t have to look over a something huge to see to each other. Another great idea for long tables is to have a line alternating the blooms and votives all the way down the center. Pic

I Picked My Wedding Cake!

my cake

For those of you who don’t know I will be getting married in December and I am super excited to tell you that I have picked the design of my cake! That was one of the hardest things for me to pick. I wanted something that was elegant but had a little whimsy. I think this will do the trick!Since we are having a kind-of heavy dinner the cake flavors will be lighter. The bottom layer will be vanilla with raspberry buttercream and the top two layers will be lemon with strawberry buttercream and strawberry jam. We went with jam since good strawberries are hard to find in December. Keep in mind that our colors are apple red, white, and black. So the top of the cake will have a pile of red roses on top. I am so excited!!!!Bella Luna

No Shoes!

shoes optional

As the snow falls down, I look out my window and long for warmth. However, before we know it spring and summer will be here and we will be lounging by the pool or on the beach. This is a warm thought for such a cold day but we must stay optimistic. So here is one of my favorite ideas for a beach wedding. Leave a basket at the entrance of the wedding and with a sign that says shoes optional. Who doesn’t love to burry their toes in the sand? Plus, this will make for a comfortable and relaxing wedding Source

Cockscomb Valentine Wreath

heart wreath

Martha Stewart always has the best ideas! This wreath is actually meant for Valentine’s Day, but I think it would work perfect for a wedding. These heart shaped wreaths are a sure fire way to spice up the entryway of your reception. Hang one on each of the doors of the reception hall and you have a breathtaking focal point that is sure catch your guest’s attention. This design could be altered to fit almost any wedding by simply using a different flower. For example, I think red roses would make this design simply breathtaking and give it a more elegant look for an evening event.

Tools and Materials
Heart-shaped 10-inch polystyrene wreath form (available at florists’ shops)
Utility knife with a saw blade
Hot-glue gun and glue sticks
Several bunches of dried cockscomb (each with about eight stems)
3 yards of satin ribbon
T-pins
Floral wire

Cockscomb Valentine Wreath How-To
Round off the edges of the wreath form with the utility knife; beveled edges will let flowers flow over the sides. Trim stems off flowers, leaving a 1/4-inch base. Apply glue to bases, and arrange flowers — tops facing up — on form, grouping them by color. Cut a yard of ribbon, fold it in half, and attach it to the back of the wreath with a T-pin to form a loop for hanging. After hanging the wreath from a tack in the wall, tie remaining ribbon into a bow with long tails, and mount the bow on the tack with floral wire. Source

Guest Book Idea~ A Coffee Table Book

china

If you are having a destination wedding or live in someplace that is a lot of fun, then this guestbook idea would work perfect for you. Instead of the traditional guest book, buy a coffee table book of the place where your wedding is taking place. Then simply instruct your guests to sign the book yearbook style on any page that they like. After the wedding you will be left with a great book to depict the location of your marriage and everyone that shared that special place with you.
