Here is an easy centerpiece idea that is sure to light up any wedding. With the help of these candle and flower centerpieces, the whole table will shine. For each one, use candle wax to attach a small floral frog to the center of a shallow bowl. Push a taper into the floral frog to secure. Pour water into the bowl. Clip amaryllis blooms (or other large flowers) from their stems, and arrange them in the bowl around the candle. Source

If you are having a Christmas or winter themed wedding them why not make a dashing entrance and/or exit? You may be traveling from the wedding site to the reception or simply leaving to the wedding site, but why not do it with pizzazz. Invoke the spirit of the Christmas season and travel by horse drawn carriage. The harness can be decorated with Christmas foliage and lots of chiming bells or left as is. Either way it is a romantic and unforgettable way to travel!

Look for an inn with a fireplace for an intimate winter wedding. For a larger affair, you may be able to use a historic mansion or private club that will still have intimate warmth. Unless you’re getting married in a state that will have guaranteed snow during your wedding date, avoid a room that has a large picture window. You may imagine drifts of beautiful snow, and end up with a grey rainy day. Be sure to ask what seasonal decorations they use – you’ll save money as many sites are already heavily decorated. Also, check to make sure your site will be adequately heated during the winter months; old churches can be especially drafty. Source

What would a Christmas themed wedding be without mistletoe? At the reception, hang mistletoe at the entrance or in a key location to share the romance of the day with your guests. This will bring a little added excitement and cheer to your wedding as well as tapping into a traditional holiday custom!

These mittens won’t warm chilled hands, but they will generate good cheer when used at your wedding. This idea comes from my favorite place on the web, Martha Stewart.com. Use these mittens as a name card holder to give a festive feel to a holiday wedding. Another option is using these mittens to hold your donation cards if you are donating money to a charity instead of favors. All you have to do is cut a mitten shape from cardboard, and trace it onto a piece of felt. Cut along the lines, and glue the felt to the cardboard with clear-drying white craft glue. Adorn the felt side of the mitten with bits of felt in complementary colors — dots made with a hole punch, a monogram, felt trim edged with decorative shears, or a Christmas tree cut out with a decorative craft punch. Glue a standard wooden clothespin to cardboard, then glue a magnet to the back of the clothespin. After the gifts have been opened, use your mittens to display greeting cards on the refrigerator.

Traditionally, a bride selects a few flowers from her bouquet to press and put in the back of the wedding album. But according to Martha Stewart Weddings, there is no need for the blossoms to remain hidden away when they can easily be framed for display.
After the wedding, select the flowers that look their freshest, and press them for 1 to 2 weeks. Cut mat board to fit your picture frame, and lay it flat on a work surface. Arrange the blooms on the board, then carefully affix each with a bit of craft glue. Let dry, and place in frame. Source

If you are having a Christmas or winter themed wedding, keep the children entertained by purchasing a Gingerbread house kit. These kits are fairly inexpensive and come with all the supplies necessary. Sit one at each child’s spot or just one a group can work on at the kiddie table. It is sure to be a hit and plus it will be extra yummy to eat afterwards!
